Sweet Little Lies

Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis is the first book in her Heartbreaker Bay series. This book had a feel similar to her Lucky Harbor series, despite taking place in a big city. Pru and Finn both had their lives changed one night when their parents died. Well Pru knows more about that crash than Finn does and she keeps that information from him as they begin to get to know each other and fall for each other. This book was filled with the humor Shalvis is know for, as well as a ton of heart. Pru was the epitome of a bleeding heart and couldn't stand to do anything but the right thing. Finn was sexy, funny, and the perfect guy for Pru. Becoming lovers was a natural progression and I don't think their transition could have been any easier and still had it feel real. This was a fantastic start to a new series and I can't wait to read the next book. Once again Jill Shalvis gets 5 stars and a highly recommend for this book.

Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .

As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.

Fall for him—hard . . .

Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.

And then tell him the truth.

Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

Dirty Sexy Cuffed

Dirty Sexy Cuffed was a fantastic story. Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde are talent writers on their own, but what happens when their two minds are combined is worlds above what many authors can hope to achieve. Levi Kincaid is a sexy alpha male, but he's also got so much compassion and caring. He's a hero you can't help but fall for. Sarah Robins is a woman on the run from a crazy ex. Levi is just what she needs in order to stop running and gives her the help to take care of the ex. The chemistry between the two is instantaneous and smoking hot. This book is a standalone with a HEA, but the final chapter can only be described with this meme:
The next book Dirty Sexy Sinner is set up in the final chapter and it wasn't something that I think anyone could see coming. It made me eager for the next book, but I was still completely happy with how the story ended. As with the other books in this series, I highly recommend it and give it 5 stars. Love it and I want more from these two talented women.

ARE YOU READY TO GET CUFFED?

As a cop, Levi Kincaid is all about discipline and control . . .in the bedroom, and out of it, and he's always been very careful about choosing women who abide by his rules. Hot sex and intense pleasure? No problem. Emotional commitment and forever promises? No way. But he never anticipates falling for a blue eyed angel who makes him want to cuff her to his bed and do dirty, sexy things to her. And that control of his? It doesn't stand a chance against Sarah Robins, the one woman he can't resist . . .

Grab your copy today, and check out the exclusive excerpt Melissa is sharing it! BBADM Ban  Bad Boys After Dark: Mick was a steamy read that hooks you in from the first sentence and keeps you in its grips until the very end. Amanda was a complex woman that I could easily identify with. Her insecurities mirrored my own and I feel that many women can identify with her. Mick was a sexy guy who lived up to his last name, but his desire and the way he cared for Amanda was present throughout the entire story. I found myself falling in love with Mick and I wished that he was real. Both characters were far from perfect, but that made them even more captivating. Melissa Foster wrote a fantastic book and I highly recommend it. This book gets a 5 star rating and I will definitely be reading this series as soon as the rest of the books come out.

If Amanda tried hard enough, she could smell tomorrow’s scent du jour—regret. Tonight she had no room for the confidence-crushing worry of what tomorrow would bring. Love Restored First Look

The first book in a Montgomery Ink spin-off series, LOVE RESTORED by Carrie Ann Ryan, was announced on USA Today HEA yesterday, and we're so thrilled to bring you a first look at LOVE RESTORED today!

Love RestoredAbout LOVE RESTORED

In the first of a Montgomery Ink spin-off series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a broken man uncovers the truth of what it means to take a second chance with the most unexpected woman…
Graham Gallagher has seen it all. And when tragedy struck, lost it all. He’s been the backbone of his brothers, the one they all rely on in their lives and business. And when it comes to falling in love and creating a life, he knows what it’s like to have it all and watch it crumble. He’s done with looking for another person to warm his bed, but apparently he didn’t learn his lesson because the new piercer at Montgomery Ink tempts him like no other.
Blake Brennen may have been born a trust fund baby, but she’s created a whole new life for herself in the world of ink, piercings, and freedom. Only the ties she’d thought she’d cut long ago aren’t as severed as she’d believed. When she finds Graham constantly in her path, she knows from first glance that he’s the wrong kind of guy for her. Except that Blake excels at making the wrong choice and Graham might be the ultimate temptation for the bad girl she’d thought long buried.
Add it to your Goodreads list here!
LOVE RESTORED releases September 13th - preorder now!

Get a sneak peek at LOVE RESTORED:

Graham Gallagher had never craved a cigarette as much as he did just then. It didn’t matter that he’d quit smoking over fifteen years ago cold turkey and hadn’t picked one up since then. He just wanted a damn smoke.
Scratch that.
He wanted a fucking cigarette, a beer, and a willing woman underneath him as he fucked her until they were both spent.
And not necessarily in that order.
Not that he’d get any of that any time soon. Between this new job, the old one they hadn’t fully completed yet, and the rest of the crap in his life, he wasn’t sure he’d even have time for a beer.
And considering it had been a long six months since he’d had a woman under him, he was pretty sure he wouldn’t be getting laid any time soon. Him and his right hand had a perfectly nice relationship for now and when he got downright dangerous, he got to know his left.
Jesus, he needed coffee or something at this point if he was thinking about how his left hand would be something different in his life.
He ran a hand through his dark hair and grimaced as he caught some tangles as he pulled it out of the rubber band. He wasn’t sure he’d brushed it that morning, instead just throwing it up in a tie at the back of his head as soon as he’d gotten out of the shower. At least he’d showered, he thought. Considering he’d slept for shit the night before, a shower after sweat-slick dreams had been the only recourse. He quickly ran his hand through it a few more times, getting out most of the rat’s nest and pulled it back up before the owner of their new project showed up and called him a heathen.
Graham sighed, sliding his hand over his beard to straighten it out. Since it had grown past his chin and almost touched his chest if he lowered his head just right, he already looked the part of a heathen to some. Add in the ink covering his body and the piercings only those in his bed could see, he didn’t fit the ideal image of a business man that someone of this caliber would want to work with.
And that was just find with him.

About Carrie Ann Ryan

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born. Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

Man of Honor

A Man of Honor was the first book I read by Miranda Liasson, but it definitely won't be the last. I found myself hooked into Cat and Preston's story from the beginning. The pacing for this story was nice and steady. It followed the typical older brother's friend story line, but it was done in a way that did not seem overdone. There was some humor and a few times I laughed out loud. This book left me feeling very happy and now I'm wanting to read more by Miranda Liasson. This was a very light and entertaining read and I give this book 4.5 stars.

He survived combat…but will he fight for love?

Former Army Captain and venture capitalist Preston Guthrie has always had a thing for Cat Kingston, but he never felt like he could date his best friend’s sister. Plus, he’s a wrong-side-of-the-tracks guy and she’s a white-picket-fence kind of woman. Yet when they met again just before he was deployed, sparks flew. A fire ignited. And the heat was hot. For the first time, he thought a relationship with her might be possible…until an injury in the war changed everything…

Journalist Cat Kingston had a rough couple of years, surviving a broken engagement and the loss of her job. But connecting with Preston last fall seemed right. They shared steamy Skype sessions while he was overseas—until he was wounded, and cut her off without explanation. Now he’s back in town to be the Best Man for her sister’s wedding…and she wants answers.

Preston’s struggling with a leg wound, but the war scarred him on the inside, too. When Cat pays him a surprise visit and her brother catches them in a compromising position, Preston tells him they’re dating. He’s not sure how he can spend the entire wedding week fake-dating her when the chemistry between them feels anything but…

Dominance Never Dies

Dominance Never Dies by Lexi Blake has been long anticipated by me. I absolutely LOVE the Taggart brothers and was heartbroken when one of them was captured by the enemy. His rescue has been on my mind since he was presumed dead. Well, this book has a lot of that story line in it. It is centered around Case Taggart and him falling in love with Mia Danvers while trying to save Case's twin Theo. Lexi Blake has another winner on her hands. This book was fast paced and sucked me in from page one. I had to know what was going on with the Taggarts and the rest of the family that has been built throughout this series. This book focused more on the suspense than the romance, but I still found the romance satisfying. This book ended in a way that set up the next book in the series and I can't wait for it! I give this story five stars and am eagerly awaiting the next story in the M&M world.

Dominance Never Dies

A loss he can’t forget
Since losing his twin brother, Theo, in the line of duty, Case Taggart has felt dead inside. The former Navy SEAL has dedicated himself to his family and their business but he can’t help but feel stuck as he watches everyone else move on with their lives. Only meeting the beautiful Mia brings Case out of his misery, until he discovered she was just a reporter looking for a story. Betrayed, he turned his back on her and never looked back.
An attraction she can’t deny
Mia Danvers can’t get Case Taggart out of her head. Though they hadn’t been lovers, she’d felt more for him than for any man she’d ever met. Growing up in the shadow of her over-protective, older brothers, she felt free when she was with Case and she longs to feel that way again. She knows that if she can find any trace of Theo Taggart, Case will be forced to let her back into his life. Months of searching have finally paid off and she knows this is her second chance.
 A desperate search
Case and Mia follow the clues they hope will lead them to Theo and the villainous Hope McDonald, but the search becomes increasingly dangerous. EXCERPT 1
Case let his free hand stray down to Mia’s waist, enjoying the feel of her curves. “You’re a reporter, not a soldier. I’ve agreed to stand back and let you work. I’ve agreed to let you bring along Fain. Give me something here. I’m in charge of this operation.”
She sighed, a sexy sound. “I don’t want you to cut me out. I can’t stand being treated like I’m made of glass.”
She was so obviously made of warmth and sex. He lowered his head, lips hovering over her mouth. He’d waited so damn long. “I won’t cut you out. I promise. But I need to know you’ll obey me if things get dangerous.”
“It won’t,” she promised, her hands moving to his waist.
He wanted those hands all over his body. “But if it does…”
Her lips were so close. “I’ll follow your orders. You’re in charge if things get dangerous.”
That wasn’t good enough. “And here, Mia. I’m in charge when we play. You’re the sweet sub and I’m the dirty Dom who’s going to demand absolutely everything you have to give me. Tell me yes. Tell me we can play.”
“Yes, Case. Yes.”
He covered her mouth with his, devouring her like a starving man. He couldn’t be gentle. He needed her far too much.
Her arms wound around him and she held on, pressing her body to his. Her breasts flattened against his chest.
This was what he’d wanted that first night, the first moment he’d seen her. He’d wanted soft and submissive. She’d called to that dominant piece of him he hadn’t known existed. Before Mia had walked into his life, he’d enjoyed the lifestyle, but he hadn’t truly understood it. He hadn’t known what it meant to need to dominate a woman—not for mere sexual purposes or to feed his own ego. He needed to dominate her because she ruled his every thought, because he needed to be important to this one woman.
No. Case forced himself to stop. He pulled away from the drugging kisses she was giving him. He couldn’t go down that path. If he was going to take her, it would be on his terms, and that meant he wasn’t going to play the idiot. He wasn’t going to ask for more than she could give him. He wasn’t going to pretend this was some grand love. She wasn’t Charlotte and he wasn’t Ian. They didn’t get that forever thing.
But they could have this.
“What’s wrong?” She looked up at him and then started to pull away.
He wasn’t going to let that happen. He turned her around so his front nestled her back. “Nothing’s wrong. I want to feel you. Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited to touch you, Mia? How often I’ve thought about this?” His hands were on her waist and he brought them up slowly. “I want to memorize every inch of your skin, and do you know how I’m going to do it?”
She leaned back into him. “You’re going to touch me.”
He loved how breathless she was. No other woman ever responded as honestly to him as she did. He could trust her body even if he didn’t trust the rest of her. Oh, she wouldn’t mean to hurt him. He actually believed that, but she would choose her world. She would choose her family over him. He could keep her for a little while.
“What am I going to touch you with, princess?” He moved slowly, letting his hands find the warm skin under her shirt.
“Your hands.” Her head fell back against his chest. Without heels on she didn’t quite reach his shoulders. “I want your hands everywhere, Case. They feel so good.”
“I will touch you everywhere, but that’s not all I’ll do.” He was right under her breasts. This was one of the things D/s had taught him. Sex required discipline. Patience. Control. He wanted to shove her on that bed and force his dick inside her, but that wouldn’t make it good for her. This methodical arousal of every inch of her body would make her ready for him, would make her scream for him.
Might make her stay with him for a while.

EXCERPT 2
“Are you ever coming back to Sanctum?”
Her eyes flared briefly at the mention of Sanctum, but then she shut down again. “I didn’t think I could.”
Ah, yes, she was still invested in the lifestyle. “Ian didn’t revoke your membership. I asked him not to. Kori and Sarah made a plea for you. Actually, they made him cookies. My brother can be bribed.”
“Somehow I can’t see Ian Taggart being happy with me in his club. I lied to him, too.”
“You would be surprised at how reasonable Ian can be when he wants to. You should come back.” Another thought hit him. A nasty one. “Unless you joined a club in Austin.”
“No, Case. I haven’t been out trolling for strange Doms,” she said with a sigh. “I’ve been working with my brothers. They have their own insane plans, you know.”
He knew they were investigating a couple of people. Adam and Alex had been working on it. Case had stayed away. He wasn’t sure why the Lawless brothers wanted to take down StratCast Industries or why they seemed to have a hard-on for Patricia Cain, who wrote cookbooks and shit. If they wanted to take down the ice queen, who had a whole network dedicated to her telling the rest of America how shitty their taste was in everything from food to throw pillows, more power to them.
“Well, you’re welcome to come back. I know Kori and Sarah miss you. Erin’s talked about you, too. She likes any woman who’ll threaten to shoot her. Once she hears how you dealt with my rudeness, she’ll want to be your best friend.” His sister-in-law understood the need for a violent reminder every now and then. “You should see your friends. You know, I never asked you about her. About the friend you lost.”
It had been the whole reason for her lie and he’d never asked her about it. They’d been far too busy bickering over inconsequential things or ignoring each other.
“Her name was Carrie. We were roommates in college. She was very excited to be working on her first set.” Mia looked wistful, her eyes misting. “She was my first friend in college. We kind of clung together. She was from a small town and I, well, I had an odd upbringing. We kind of clicked. We roomed together until she moved to Vancouver for the show. I miss her.”
“I’m sorry, darlin’. I really am.”
She gave him a wan smile. “You know what it means to miss someone. I’m sorry about everything, Case. I really thought I was doing the right thing. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
He moved in, taking the opportunity she was giving him. They should have done this a long time ago. “And I’m sorry I made you think I didn’t want you. I did. Walking away from you every night was hard as hell. I still want you, Mia.”
She looked up at him. “I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Tell me why you looked for Theo.” He should be asking her how she’d found Theo. He knew that, but he couldn’t do it. They would be together for days. He could find that out later. Right now, he needed to find out if she wanted him, too.
“You know why.”
He did. It was the same reason he hadn’t played with a single sub since the day he’d met her. No play. No sex. No anything because no one was Mia and it seemed like she was the only woman in the damn world who could do it for him. “Because we have chemistry. Because nothing ever felt like kissing me. No sex. No intimacy. None of it ever worked the way it did with me.”
“God, you’re an arrogant man.”
He really wasn’t. It was all a front. “I’m not being arrogant. I know how you feel because I felt it, too. Why the hell do you think I lied about having a girlfriend? I haven’t touched anyone since the day I met you.”
Her eyes flared, her mouth dropping a bit. It was good to know he could shock her. “What are you trying to say, Case?”
He finally did what came naturally. He touched her, sliding his palm up her neck to cup her cheek. That was what he’d been missing. Connection. Warmth. “I think we’re going to be together for a few days. I know I’m tired of not knowing.”
He wanted to know what it felt like to cover her body with his, to have her spread and waiting and offering herself to him. To know how it felt to slide inside all that warmth. To be surrounded with her.
It wouldn’t last. It would only be for a few days, but for those days he would know what it meant to take care of her.

His friends weren’t that tacky. But no reason he couldn’t play along for a bit. Even with his bum leg, he’d had plenty of offers from sympathetic young things pining to do their patriotic duty for a fallen soldier. He’d never been that desperate. Still wasn’t. But he’d love a distraction. Love to forget everything for just a few moments: the pain, the hell, the woman he’d left in the dust. The lady in black sashayed across the room to stand directly behind him, where he couldn’t easily turn to see her face. She looped cool hands over his eyes, leaning her elbows on the top of his chair. Raindrops rolled off her jacket and landed on his neck, sending a slight shiver cascading down his back. A clean, delicate fragrance he couldn’t quite place enveloped him in a cloud of scent. “What would you like tonight, soldier?” Her voice was smooth as silk, but her hands trembled, making him think she must be young, inexperienced. She brushed her lips softly along his neck. He would put a stop to this nonsense in a minute, but God, it felt too damn good to be touched. The image that played before his eyes, stabbing his heart with the same immutable pain as his worthless leg, was of another woman, not vampy, not sultry. Soft blond hair, a smile as sweet as homemade sugar cookies at Christmas. More slender than curvy, but just right for his tastes. There’d been a time before his injury when he’d almost believed he could make up for his shitty upbringing and be the man she needed. But not anymore. And not ever. The war had changed all that. That scent. Lavender, that’s what it was. Sweet and old fashioned, a huge contrast to her provocative behavior. Familiar. And that voice, too, once you peeled off the layers of that phony lilt. His heart accelerated, his senses sharpening with suspicion. “Why are you here?” he asked as casually as he could manage while he reached up his hands and curved them around her wrists. Slender, just like hers. “Your friends sent me to show you a good time,” she said. He ran his hands lightly up her arms, stopping just below her elbow. His heart pumped equal parts dread and anticipation through his body. Too many coincidences had raised his spy sense. Her timidity, the disguise, the sweet smell that had permeated his dreams every bloody night in the hot, arid desert. This was no stripper. Or dancer. Or whatever masquerade she was playing at. He didn’t know how or why, but he’d recognize Catherine Kingston if he was blind and deaf. His hands stilled at her elbows. For one moment, he stroked the soft skin, enjoying the forbidden feel of her. Then he tightened his hold, pivoted his shoulders, and sent her tumbling into his lap. The hood tipped back, and he found himself staring into a pair of angry eyes the color of a September sky. “What the—” She struggled against him, but he didn’t ease up. His leg might be just about useless, but everywhere else, he was lock-grip strong. He’d pinned her as easily as a judo master’s takedown. “What the hell are you doing here?” he asked. teaser 1 About Miranda Liasson: Miranda Liasson-2-2 Miranda Liasson loves to write stories about courageous but flawed characters who find love despite themselves, because there’s nothing like a great love story.
