My Kind of Wonderful

My Kind of Wonderful is the newest book by the talented Jill Shalvis, and she has given fans another fantastic book. This is the second book in her Cedar Ridge series and follows Bailey Moore and Hudson Kincaid. Bailey survived cancer and is working on living her life to the fullest. She meets Hud when she accidentally ends up on the Diamond ski slope instead of the beginner that she was aiming for. Their connection was instant and filled with humor. I love how this book was able to both make me laugh like a loon and connect with the characters to the point where I truly understood Bailey's desire to live life all out. I can't say enough good things about this story and must give it 5 stars.  Highly recommend to all Shalvis fans, as well as anyone who likes romance.

UNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE...

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she's determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn't realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn't want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn't the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she's not planning to stick around.

As head of ski patrol at his family's resort, Hud thinks he's seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he's been missing far too long. Now he'll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.

Masters and Mercenarie Bundle

I was lucky enough to be gifted the Masters and Mercenaries Bundle by Lexi Blake. It has the first three books in this series in it and I have to say that I love these books. The first book, The Dom Who Loved Me, follows Grace Hawthorn and Sean Taggert aka Little Tag. Their story was an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. Sean knew he wanted Grace from the moment he saw her photo, but Grace was hesitant to give into Sean's advances because she thought he was just a flirt. As someone who was forty with two grown sons she didn't see any reason why a handsome thirty something year old man would be interested in her. Well, Grace definitely was proved wrong once Sean got her into bed. Her insecurities came out a couple of times in this book and I could relate to her completely, especially when she found out that everything started as an assignment to Sean and she didn't even know his real last name. This book (and entire series) has strong BDSM elements when it comes to sex, and everything is done with such love and care. I found myself falling for Sean and rooting for him and Grace to be together. In The Men with the Golden Cuffs Jake Dean and Adam Miles are two men who enjoy sharing women, but they're ready to find their permanent third. Serena Brooks came into their agency looking for a bodyguard because of a stalker. Well, to say things started off rocky between the three was an understatement. The story has lots of mistrust and rocky times between the beginning and their HEA. No one is sure if Serena is really in danger or if she is doing these things to herself as a publicity stunt. Throw in a past lover that betrayed Adam and Jake, and you get a drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The sex in this book was hot and a little less centered on complete BDSM. Only Jake completed his Dom course. Adam still has a dominant personality, but he doesn't need the BDSM in the way that Jake does. There was a lot of jealousy between the two and fear that Serena only ones one at the beginning, but as someone who publishes books about true menages, she wants them both. Serena was the perfect person to be with Adam and Jake and I'm really glad they all got their happy ending. A Dom is Forever is the third book in this bundle, but far from the last book in this incredible series. Liam was a bit darker personality wise from all of the previous men, but when he fell for Avery, he completely changed into a better person. Liam was a very isolated and dark person and Avery was his polar opposite. She was optimistic and despite the really crappy things life had thrown at her, she always fought through. I loved how sassy she was with Liam during sex and despite her body image issues, she really let loose and reached subspace. I really enjoyed reading Liam and Avery's story, especially since there were a couple of large reveals in there. I'm afraid of spoiling them which is why I'm going to keep things about this story short. There was a larger story going on with each of the individual books and it wasn't wrapped up in the first three books, despite each couple getting their HEA. This makes me want to continue to read this series and find out how it all ends. I give this bundle a strong 5 stars and will definitely be reading more from both Lexi Blake and the Masters and Mercenaries series.

From Sanctum with Love Excerpt Reveal

sanctumexcerptbanner       Psychologist KFromSanctumWithLove_highres (1)ai Ferguson has had his eye on Kori Williamson for a long time. His assistant is everything he’s ever wanted in a partner—smart, caring, witty, and a bit of a masochist. More than a little, actually, but that’s the problem. Kori won’t admit her own desires. She’s afraid of him and what he has to offer. Luckily for her, helping patients face their fears is one of his specialties. Kori knows she wants Kai. Her boss is the most amazing man she’s ever met. She’s also smart enough to stay away from him. Having been down this road before, she knows it only leads to heartache. She’s just found a place where she can belong. Another failed relationship is the last thing she needs. It’s better to guard her heart and let Kai think she’s frightened of his dark, dominant nature. When Kai is recruited for an operation with McKay-Taggart, everything is turned upside down. Kai’s brother, international superstar Jared Johns, is in town and Kai must juggle his family issues along with a desperate hunt for a serial killer. The investigation throws Kori and Kai together, and they quickly discover the chemistry between them is undeniable. But even if their newfound love can survive his secrets and her lies, it may not be enough to save them both from a killer’s twisted obsession.   Pre-order: Amazon Amazon UK iTunes Google Play Barnes & Noble     Kori ran back to her room and gave serious consideration to locking the door behind her. She could live here now. Sarah could stuff protein bars under the door and she could live off tap water. This could be her home for many years. As long as it took for that wicked look to get out of Kai’s eyes. Or he would find a way inside anyway and then her ass was grass because that man looked serious. She should have told him about the tires. She’d made that promise a long time before. In her attempts to avoid him the previous evening she’d decided that calling and telling him her car had been viciously attacked was counter productive to the whole point of avoiding him. Now with a whole night’s wisdom behind her, she could see that it might have been a mistake. Locking him out of her room would probably be another mistake. She turned on him. Maybe she could get out of this. “Hey, you know in all the craziness of last night I totally forgot to mention that my tires got messed up. Maybe that was a manufacturer defect or something. It’s hard to tell in the dark.” He stood in the doorway to her bedroom. Past him, she could still hear a lot of talking since it seemed her normally quiet house had been invaded. It didn’t matter. They could talk all they liked because all Kori could see or really hear was Kai. “Are you certain that’s the tactic you want to take with me?” “Nope. I’m not certain at all.” She wasn’t certain of anything. When she’d woken and realized he wasn’t still in bed with her, she’d been disappointed. She’d reached out and his side of the bed had been cold, and for a second she’d felt tears cloud her eyes. Then she’d decided it was a good thing. He’d done what she wanted him to do. He’d snuck out and avoided embarrassing morning-after stuff. Except he hadn’t. Apparently he’d invited friends over to witness the embarrassing morning-after stuff. “What are you still doing here?” He crossed his arms over his chest. “What am I still doing here? I was making you and your friends some breakfast. I was attempting to be a good…houseguest.” She was almost certain houseguest wasn’t what he’d meant to say. What other words would he have used? Boyfriend? Dom? Master? Every single one of them got her heart racing. Was she thinking of trying with Kai? Could her heart handle that? “How did everyone else get here?” “My brother seems to be stalking me and Case came over because he was worried about you. Apparently he knew about someone vandalizing your car.” That was news to her. “He did? I didn’t tell him.” “Who did you tell?” The question came out with an edge of irritation. “Sarah and Mia. I decided to wait until this morning to call someone because it was late last night.” And I’d been trying to avoid you only to end up having the best sleep of my life because I was wrapped around you. Yeah, she wasn’t going to say that. “How about the police? Were you going to call them? If you’re going to make an insurance claim, you’ll need a police report. Or are you going to claim that your tires died of natural causes?” She held her hands up, attempting to placate him. Why did her room seem so much smaller when he was in it? It was a good-sized room, but Kai took up all the space. “You’re right. I should have called last night, but I was tired and I wanted to get home and get in bed.” His gorgeous eyes narrowed. “You weren’t in bed. You were sitting up with your friends drinking wine. Try again.” “Kai, what’s going on here? It’s a couple of tires.” “You were supposed to call me if you got in trouble.” “I wasn’t really in…” What was she doing? Before yesterday, she would never have lied to Kai. Not right to his face. “I was nervous about seeing you after the scene.” “Finally some honesty. I’ll handle it. I’ll deal with the police and get you what you need for your insurance. The boys from McKay-Taggart will set up some discreet surveillance cameras around our parking lot.” There was a reason they didn’t have that. “I thought you didn’t want the patients to feel like they were walking into a secure zone.” Some of them had serious issues with people watching them. They dealt with a lot of PTSD patients. “I will deal with them. Your safety is more important. Now turn around, pull your pants down, and place your palms flat on the bed. It’s a count of thirty.” She could actually feel her womb spasm. “What?” Nothing about his face or stance told he was anything but dead serious. “This was a condition of your employment. It has been from the beginning.” If she wasn’t careful her damn jaw was going to hit the floor. “I remember the conditions of my employment. Are you saying if I’d been late and hadn’t called, you would have spanked me?” “I suppose we should be happy you’re a very prompt girl. And you tend to be good about calling. We’ll never know. What I do know is that after last night, I will definitely spank you and you’ll enjoy it. You might start showing up late just so you can walk into my office and present that juicy ass to me.” He moved in front of her, staring down at her with heat in his eyes. “I want you to think before you tell me no. I want you to question which side of the Kori I know is going to win this battle. Is it the funny, happy, brave Kori who never stands down from a challenge, or the one who’s denied herself for years because some idiot asshole Dom made her feel small. I won’t ever make you feel small. My job in life will be to lift you up, to help you be strong.” His words cut through her. “What are you saying, Kai? Is this about you being my boss or acting as my play partner?” She thought they’d worked it out last night. His hands cupped her cheeks, forcing her to look up at him. “I’m acting as your Dom, Kori, and you know it. You can pretend all you like. You can call it whatever you want to, but you know how this ends. This ends with you and me.”       Lexi_BlakeNY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. Say You're Mine

Say You're Mine by Diane Alberts is a book that hooked me in from the beginning and kept me captivated until the end. I haven't read the previous books in this series, but I have added them all to my TBR list. I'm a huge fan of friends to lovers stories and this one was just as well written as I'd hoped. Ms. Alberts wrote a story that tugged at my heart strings at some points and at others had me laughing out loud. This story has both humor and heart and I really can't wait for more from both this author and this series. I give this book 5 stars and definitely recommend reading it.

Guest Post:

I love taking a look behind the scenes. As a reader, I gobble up deleted scenes, bonus scenes, and any bit of information I can get from my favorite authors. Because I love it so far, I decided to do a few scenes of my own from my own books. In the past couple of years, I’ve posted some deleted scenes that couldn’t make it into books because they were about side characters as well as some new scenes about what happens after the HEA.

Readers begged me to put them on Amazon or iBooks so they could have them for keeps and I figured once I had enough, I would do something for them. I LOVE that my readers want more. It humbles me and makes me giddy all at the same time.

Flame and Ink is a collection of many stories and most of my series. I love my characters and I love going back and seeing what they’re up to. I hope you love them too.

About Carrie Ann Ryan:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she'd be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn't until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn't planning on giving up her dream anytime soon

The Fix Up

Tawny Fenske wrote an AMAZING book when she wrote The Fix Up. This book hooked me from the beginning and I ended up reading it all in one sitting. Ben and Holly are the epitome of a cute meet and I loved watching them fall in love. I don't want to give away this story, but I do want to say that this book is a must read and I give it 5 stars. I can't wait for more from this author.

Uncovering this sexy geek's charm is easy. Keeping her hands off of him is impossible.
While he may look like the love child of a movie starlet and an NFL linebacker, Ben Langley has the people skills of a half-drowned porcupine. Why socialize when there are chemistry labs and bad sci-fi flicks? If he has any hope of taking the helm as CEO of the family business, Ben needs an image makeover. Pronto.
Enter Holly Colvin, owner of First Impressions public relations and branding firm, and the woman who just saved Ben from the clutches of an over-attentive sales clerk. With the clock ticking for them both, Holly and Ben face off over wardrobe malfunctions and business jargon that sounds a lot sexier than it should. But can Holly make Ben into the man he thinks he should be without losing the man she's starting to love?
