Sugarcoated

Sugarcoated - BT Banner.jpg
"You can always count on Erin Nicholas for fun, sexy contemporary romance."―Melissa Foster, New York Times bestselling author
Sugarcoated, an all-new sexy and laugh-out-loud standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas, is out now!
Sugarcoated300
She's his best friend's little sister. He's known her all his life. He's practically part of the family. There is nothing either of them could do to surprise the other at this point.
Then she showed up in his bedroom in lingerie and asked him to take her V-card.
Now, that was a surprise.
Aiden is pretty sure Zoe was equally surprised when he told her no.
To say that he didn't handle it well would be a massive understatement. Almost as massive as the amount of work he's going to have to do now to convince her that he wants her. Forever.
Right after he tells her that he's bought the company that's her bakery’s biggest competitor.
Maybe if he tells her he’s in love with her first, that will help sugarcoat the whole we're-rivals-in-business-now thing.
So, first "I'm in love with you", then "take off your clothes", then "I'm now your business adversary".
Piece of cake.

Excerpt:
“What?” she asked, her eyes wide and blinking. “You thought I’d just be waiting around for you to come back?”
“Yes!” It was the wrong answer, he knew, even as he said it. But it was true.
“You are so full of yourself!” She frowned. “You actually thought I’d be waiting around, pining for you, didn’t you?”
Maybe not crying herself to sleep every night, but thinking about him? Yeah. Fuck. He hadn’t been able to get her out of his mind for more than a few hours at a time. “It’s only been five months,” he said. “Is it really crazy for me to think that you didn’t get your virginity ‘taken care of’ yet?”
“Exactly! It’s been five months!” she said.
“You went twenty-five years without sex, and you couldn’t go five more months?”
“Well, it’s not like you gave me an IOU!” she shot back. “I had no idea when you were coming back, and I assumed your answer would have still been no. So yeah, I moved on, Aiden.”
“Who was it?” he asked, noting his tone was suddenly a little ominous.
“I’m not telling you that.” She looked at him like he was insane.
“Tell me, Zoe.”
No.”
“I’ll find out. This is Appleby. I’ll probably know by the end of tonight.”
“You won’t.” She lifted her chin. “I can promise you that.”
“Bet I do.”
“Why do you really even care? Now you don’t have to do it.”
“Because you’re mine.”
Yeah, shit. See, he’d known that was the wrong answer to give. Guys didn’t go around claiming women like they were property or possessions. He knew that. He’d never had that urge before. This woman was strong and independent and confident and certainly didn’t need him for anything.
But the idea of another man touching her, seeing her naked, making her feel the ultimate pleasure, made his blood boil.
She stood, just staring at him. Then she picked up a cake ball. And threw it at him. It hit him square in the red tie and bounced back onto the table.
“You’re a jerk.”
Yeah, maybe he was. A nice guy would probably just take all her explanations and excuses about why they shouldn’t be together and admit his idea was crazy.
He didn’t say anything. He didn’t wipe away the sticky crumbs the cake ball left on his tie. He picked up the ball and rounded the worktable.
Her eyes widened, and she backed up as he came closer. He kept going. Until her back was against the front of the fridge.
He didn’t say a word as he stopped right in front of her, lifted his hand to cup her face, and leaned in.
Aiden ignored her hands on his chest. She wasn’t pushing. She wasn’t pulling him closer either, but she wasn’t trying to get away. She wasn’t lifting her knee to his balls. She wasn’t saying no.
He stared into her eyes for a long moment. She could stop this. He knew she knew that.
She didn’t.
So he kissed her.

My thoughts: I haven't read Erin Nicholas in a while, but I'm so glad I picked up this book. Aiden and Zoe made a fantastic couple and their chemistry was definitely there. I adored this story and I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Unforgotten Passion Blog Tour

UP - BT banner

Unforgotten Passion, an all-new sexy second-chance romance from New York Times bestselling author Erika Wilde, is out now!

UNFORGOTTEN PASSION_EBOOK
UNFORGOTTEN PASSION is a modern, sinfully seductive take on Rapunzel.
As a famous pop star, Raevynn Walsh has lived most of her life surrounded by fame and fortune while her every choice or decision is controlled by others. Each day she dreams of breaking free from her star-studded castle. She may be living a fantasy, but it’s not her own.
Collin Donovan can’t resist an opportunity to attend the Wilder Way Fairy Tale Ball and catch a glimpse of the sensual songstress he’d once adored but had been forced to let go. When the familiar chemistry burns bright, Raevynn turns to Collin to rescue her from her chaotic life and glamorous prison, even if only for a short while.
After escaping the guards, the two lovers unravel the lies around them and rekindle the passions they’d thought were forgotten. With their time coming quickly to an end, can they save the princess from her gilded tower or is she doomed to stay caged in the spotlight forever?

My thoughts: I absolutely adore this series and this book is no different. This is a sexy twist on Rapunzel and let me say, Erika Wilde does a great version of the classic story. This book will captivate you from beginning to end and now I can't wait for the next story.

When Raevynn met Collin's gaze again, she realized he was staring at her features intently, making her feel suddenly self-conscious since it had been a long time since a man had seen her without an ounce of makeup on.  “Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked softly.
In bare feet, he slowly closed the short distance between them, and she remained right where she was, barely able to breath when he stopped a few inches from her. She had to tip her head back to meet his striking green eyes that were filled with the sweetest, most honest affection.
“Because this is the Raevynn I remember,” he murmured, brushing the backs of his fingers along her cheek, causing her breath to hitch in her throat at that gentle but sensual caress.  “Fresh-faced.  A natural beauty who doesn’t need anything to enhance this perfect, flawless skin.  Lush lips that are so naturally soft and pink . . .”
His words trailed off, as if he realized he was starting to travel into intimate territory.  Instead, his hand moved to the hair she’d plaited, the long, intertwined strands that came over her shoulder and hung down past her left breast.  As if mesmerized, his fingers slowly, gradually traced the woven pattern all the way down to the hairband she’d found in the bathroom and had used to secure the end.
“And this braid . . .”  He gave it a gentle tug that was probably meant to be playful, but the suddenly deep, sensual tone of his voice vibrated its way up her spine and resonated inside her body.  “Remember all the times I pulled it when we were kids running around my parents’ backyard playing tag?”
She swallowed hard and nodded.  “Yeah.”  At that young age, yanking on her hair had been a way to antagonize her, and it worked.  “You’d make me so damn mad.”
He chuckled, the sound like warm honey sliding down her skin, seeping inside her.  “And then years later, when I’d come over to your house at night and call up to your bedroom—”
“Rapunzel, let down your hair,” they said in unison and laughed.  Unlike the fairy tale, he’d climbed up the tree next to the house and had managed to make his way inside her window.
“I want to cut it so badly,” she said.
He blinked at her in surprise.  “Your hair?”
She nodded.  “Yes.  It’s just so . . . cumbersome.”
His hand fell away from the end of her braid.  “Then why don’t you?”
“Because all this hair is part of my image and my mother and advisors would have a heart attack if I cut it as short as I’d like.”
“If it’s what you really want, then you should do it,” he said with a casual shrug.  “It’s your hair, not theirs.  Besides, what are they going to do once it’s gone?”

He made it all sound so easy and simple, but it was always the fear of her mother’s wrath and any related consequences of her actions that stopped her from walking into an unknown salon, where her personal stylist did not work, and ask for someone to chop it off to her shoulders.  Unfortunately, she’d never had the guts to follow through on that particular inclination.

Excerpt:

She glanced at Shane. “I need to get going. My son is going to FaceTime with me soon, and I don’t want to miss the call.”
“I get it. You’re a good mom.” He smiled at her, the beauty in his expression taking her breath away.
“Thank you. I try to be.”
Because they’d ordered and brought their trays outside, she started to gather things together.
“I’ve got it,” he insisted.
“Okay … well, thank you for getting me to the right place. And for dinner.” He’d paid despite her protests.
“You’re welcome.”
A pause ensued, the first truly awkward silent moment since they’d met. She didn’t know what to say, and he seemed equally uncertain. Would he ask to see her again? Take her number? She realized they hadn’t even exchanged last names.
And she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to get involved with a man now. Although her best friend from Tampa, Layla, insisted it was time Amber tried dating again, she wasn’t ready. Consideirng she’d just moved to a new state, a new guy was the last thing she thought she needed.
And since Shane, despite the occasional intense and lingering looks her way, didn’t seem inclined to make a move, she decided to wrap things up. “Well, thanks again and it was nice meeting you.”
Feeling like a dork, she waved a hand in the air, turned, and walked away, hoping she was headed in the right direction this time. And doing her best not to turn around and look back to see if he was watching her.

Can you pinpoint a time in your life where you realized you are completely and utterly screwed? I can. I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes. I was traded. Yeah, that phone call. Traded from my long time team of over ten years. And not just to any team, but my childhood rivals; the Chicago Rebels. Completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns. I met a girl. Natalie. Man, she's perfect. I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. Too complicated. But can you believe I have zero restraint when it comes to this girl? I couldn't get her out of my head and the more I talked to her, the more I realized I needed her in my life. So what's the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can't stop crushing on, yeah . . . she's married. At least, that's what I was told . . . TheTrade_teaser-2
CORY
I’m fucked.
I’m sure you hear that all the time, so the term has lost its impact.
I ran out of sugar for my cookie batter . . . I’m fucked.
Forgot my phone in my car . . . I’m fucked.
Saw my neighbor’s old-man balls . . . I’m fucked for life.
I can guarantee you right now, this is nothing compared to old-man balls and cookies.
This is way worse.
This defines the term, I’m fucked.
What is it you ask?
It happened after one of the worst baseball seasons of my life. Traded halfway through the season to the team I’d hated my entire life, I was drowning in the constant media attention, persecuting me for the pass off for my multi-million-dollar contract.
“We want to win,” the Rebels said. “We can do that with Cory Potter wearing black and red.” And just like that, the team I’ve been playing for my entire professional career up and traded me to unload my hefty salary to develop new up-and-comers from the farm system.
The Rebels.
I’m a fucking Chicago Rebel. Words I never thought I’d say, especially growing up as a Chicago Bobcats fan, the rival team to the Rebels. Not just rival, but enemies. The teams themselves don’t get along, the fans hate each other, and Chicago is divided for a good portion of the year when the stadium lights are on.
But here I am, my name attached to the biggest trade in sports history.
A ballsy move.
An upset to Baltimore.
A baseball anomaly: All-American turned Rebel.
I’ve heard it all, I’ve seen it all, and no matter what’s splashed across the headlines, it doesn’t deviate from the fact that my long-time team decided to part ways with me midseason.
Mid-fucking-season.
After fourteen years, I packed up everything and moved back to Chicago.
But even that’s not why I’m fucked; it’s just the start of it.
The beginning of the end.
Dramatic? Maybe.
But if you were in my shoes, you’d be thinking the same thing.
After not even coming close to getting into the playoffs, the season ended, I was booed off the field because that’s how Rebels fans are—you don’t perform, they hate you—and I sequestered myself to my practically empty and cold apartment.
After a week of binge-eating deep-dish pizza and watching every prison documentary on Netflix, my sister finally dragged me out of my apartment, forcing me to attend a Bobbies playoff game with her so we could cheer on my brother-in-law. Her husband.
Seeing a Rebels player cheering on a Bobbies player plastered all over the news went over just as well as a grandma telling her grandson her favorite pastime is cock-tickling.
Not well.
But still . . . not the reason I’m fucked.
This is beyond worse than that.
During that game, I got the talk. Not the birds and bees, but the talk from a concerned sister about my lack of social life.
You really should get out more.
I know some single moms who are really nice.
Maybe a dating app might be fun. Girls would be ecstatic to match with the one and only Cory Potter.
I don’t want you dying alone.
That last one was a real kicker.
Dying alone. I’m fucking thirty-five and she has me with one toe in my grave.
The way I see it is, if you don’t meet your girl in college or high school, you’re sure as shit not going to meet her while playing professional baseball. Not when the schedule is obscenely busy and long, and not when you’re known for one thing in your city: making a shitload of money for playing a sport.
It’s almost impossible to find genuine relationships when you have this level of fame.
So I’ve resolved to waiting until after I retire to fall in love.
That doesn’t mean I’ve been celibate, I’m a man after all—a man with a shitload of adrenaline pumping through him on a daily basis. I’ve had my fair share of one-night stands with women, and a few on a solid repeat with zero expectations. Every woman I’ve bedded I’ve treated with respect, and I’ve been honest with them, because if anything, I’m a genuinely nice guy who doesn’t ever want to make someone feel bad.
Ask anyone who knows me, I’m the nice guy, the dependable guy, the leader with a heart.
I don’t screw women over, ever.
Are you thinking one of those one-night stands turned into an “accident”? Is that the reason I’m fucked? Got a girl I don’t know pregnant?
Nope, not that either.
But the conversation I had with Milly pushed me to a new way of thinking.
I don’t want you dying alone.
She made me fucking paranoid.
Was I really going to die alone?
Were my good years behind me and now I’m old meat on the market?
Should I be trying to find love in the midst of the craziness of my life?
Milly made me think, which then made me open up to the idea of finding someone, of looking at women differently, of allowing the relationship part of my brain to turn on.
So instead of ignoring every woman that has relationship potential I’d possibly look for, I turned off my blinders and started looking for them.
But I didn’t come close to meeting anyone that remotely fit the box of someone I’d consider going out on a date with. That was until I attended a certain charity event.
I saw her from across the room. Her smile was what caught my eye, then it was the way she laughed and held on to her brother’s hand, her brother who had cerebral palsy.
It was the way she’d lean into him, hold him, as if he was the most wonderful human she’d ever met.
The fact that she was absolutely breathtaking with piercing blue eyes had nothing to do with it.
It was her infectious laughter.
Her kind heart.
Her dedication to her family.
In a matter of seconds, I wanted to know her, wanted to find out her name, wanted to be in her orbit. Wanted to be a recipient of her warmth and affection.
I watched her from across the room, how she interacted with every person who came up to her, and when I was finally granted the opportunity to introduce myself, my breath caught in my throat when our hands connected. I felt my heart slam against the cage in my chest. And I knew, in that moment, with our hands mid shake, my life would never be the same.
Her name is Natalie.
Sister to my new teammate Jason Orson and his twin brother Joseph.
Director of Jason’s foundation, The Lineup.
And the reason why I’m utterly fucked.
Because while I started to grow attached to this magnetic and beautiful woman, when I told my sister about her, she informed me there was a ring on Natalie’s finger.
A ring that didn’t belong to me.
Hope plummeted in the matter of seconds as I felt the color from my besotted face drain into a puddle of remorse.
She was married.
She is fucking married.
See? Totally fucked.
I’ve been crushing so hard, because even a month later, I still think about her. I can still hear her laugh, see her smile, feel her hand in mine.
I want her.
Fucking bad.
They say time will heal all wounds, well for me, the more time passes, the more my wound is exposed and tormented.
Cory Potter is crushing on a married woman . . .
That is why I am completely and utterly . . . fucked.

Rival Roomies Cover Reveal

I’ve loved him from afar.

Though most times he’s only a foot away.

I’m smart enough to know he’ll never be anyone’s forever.

He checks all the bad boy boxes.
Tattoos. Check.
Motorcycle. Check.
Chip on his shoulder. Check check.

If he wasn’t my neighbor and friend I may have thrown myself at him. Okay, yeah. I wouldn’t. Because guys like Dylan don’t want a woman who writes kid’s math textbooks under him in bed. Instead, I pathetically savor morsels of moments where I have his sole attention.

That was until his archenemy moved in with me. Now suddenly, Dylan’s moving in too and warning off the first guy in a long time who’s showing me interest. Could he finally see me as more than a friend, or am I just a prize to win and show off to his enemy?
