 I devoured this book! Jennifer Probst created a fantastic story of revenge where the hero Nolan wasn't the @$$hole that the heroine, Presley, thought he was. Nolan was a fantastic hero and I wish I could meet a guy just like him. Presley and her friends were fun and I could relate to Presley completely. Nolan was sexy, alpha, and had a great heart. He fought for Presley, even after she told him everything. He was also unwaveringly honest with her and asked for the same from her, even as things got awkward. There were times I found myself laughing out loud at this book. I really hope that Presley's friends get their own books because this world that Ms. Probst created was fantastic! I highly recommend this book.

She’d known all along he’d lied about his identity in order to secure this appointment. Admiration flowed through him, along with a strange punch in his gut that urged him closer. The spicy scent of orange blossoms and clove filled the air, making him want to breathe deeper. “How did you know?” he asked, stopping on the opposite side of the monstrous espresso structure that held two oversized monitors, dozens of papers, and a toppling pile of books. “I thought I covered my tracks nicely.”

She gave a half shrug and reached for her Starbucks cup, seemingly already bored with his conversation. “You’re predictable.”

Male pride stung, he still couldn’t help laughing. Why did he have to be attracted to a woman who gave him shit? Would be so much easier to find a more complacent partner for an affair. Unfortunately, Nolan knew it was way too late for him. He was officially smitten. “Then I’ll have to up my game.”

Another shrug. “Maybe you have no game left.” She sipped her coffee and studied him, those stunning eyes shielding her secrets. He ached to know every detail about this woman, but knew he’d have his work cut out for him.

“Come to lunch with me and find out.”

She tilted her head. Tapped her index finger again those bee stung lips as if considering. “Why?”

Her question delighted him. “Because the moment you walked into my brewery I haven’t been able to get you off my mind.”

“How sweet.” She fluttered her lashes. “Too bad I forgot you the moment I walked out of your brewery.”

He dropped into the chair opposite the massive desk and hooked his foot over his knee. He made no attempt to hide his naked admiration for those amazing legs or the brazen way she challenged him to go and try. Her foot flexed, lifting the spiked heel, and those sleek muscles clenched under golden skin. His dick practically wept and got strangled in his jeans. “Ouch. What if I confessed you were the first woman in a long while to intrigue me?”

“Yeah? What intrigues you so much?”

He warmed up to the topic. “Besides your rapier wit, and superior intelligence? Your eyes. When I look into your eyes, I seem to lose track of time. I don’t want to be anywhere else.”

Was it possible she actually looked bored with his compliment? She gave a long-suffering sigh, regarding him like he was mentally challenged. “Please tell me you have better things in your arsenal. And you better upgrade from that Peter Gabriel song because it’s been overdone. I spend every Saturday with a personal trainer who makes me throw up for fun, so I really don’t want to hear about my pretty eyes or wit. Go ahead and bring it. Tell me I have a slamming body and get creative, dude, or I’m throwing you out and you won’t get another chance to bang me.”

God, she was magnificent.

Wade and Genny’s story was amazing. Their history was simple, but took a complex tern. Their love was strong enough to last 15 years, even when both had reason to hate the other. Genny was so selfless and I don’t know many people who could do what she did. I get Wade’s anger at his brother once he finds out the truth, and I hope in future books we will get to see their relationship mend. Ash added to the story in ways I can’t describe. I loved this quirky teen and at the same time my heart broke for how quickly he had to grow up. This book was a read in one sitting kind of book because I couldn’t stand not knowing what happened next. I think this is one of my favorite stories from this series. I definitely suggest reading it.

             “Don’t. Don’t tell me how to feel. I know you’ve worked through this, but I don’t know how to.”

“It helps to admit that we were all children back then.”

“My mother wasn’t.” He needed to talk about this with her.

“No, but she wasn’t the same after your dad died. She was lost and I’ve forgiven her,” she replied quietly. “You can’t spend your life being angry.”

“You’re angry with me.”

“Genny, he should have killed him. I would have. God, I should have.” That sorrow that had been building inside him threatened to spill over. Anger was there, but it was overshadowed by the terrible pain he felt at the thought of her being alone and afraid.

“It’s funny,” she said, studying him in the silvery light. “I went over pretty much every possible scenario I could, and this wasn’t the way I thought you would handle it. It’s why it took forever for me to talk to you. I thought you would either not care at all or that you would be so angry you went after everyone. I hesitated because I thought I might unleash a beast.”

He could give her this. Since the moment he’d learned the truth, he’d genuinely forced himself to think about how he reacted. “Keep away.” Francesca snarled the warning, her gun aimed at Kacy’s face.

The petite Latina with a cool composure probably inherited from a cat, didn’t look daunted at all to be facing down the barrel of a gun. “I’m not here to kill you. Just making sure you aren’t planning to shoot Darren.” Darren being Kacy’s boss. And Francesca’s ex-lover.

“I should. It would make things easier.” So much so if all Francesca needed was to shoot him. “He wasn’t supposed to be here. He ruined everything.” Ruined it with his angry glares--and reminders of a time when those lips used to purse in pleasure, not disdain.

“What’s wrong? Did your new boyfriend not like the one you dumped showing up?” The wind snatched the words from Kacy’s mouth, but the woman stood close enough for Francesca to hear them.

“You don’t understand. No one does. There’s more at stake than you know.”

“Then perhaps you should explain.”

How to make clear that she had no choice? “I was trying, but the Stefanov arrived. He didn’t take kindly to Darren’s treatment of me.” A well-deserved harangue, given what she’d done to him. Some men had a hard time letting go.

“Was that the plan all along? To have Stefanov lure Darren to this island so he could kill him?”

“What? Of course not.” If Francesca wanted Darren dead, she’d do it herself. “You shouldn’t speculate on things you know nothing about.”

“I know that someone is trying to kill Darren, and right about now, you and Stefanov seem like the most likely suspects.”

Stefanov might have his own agenda, but her? “I’m not trying to kill him.” She might be the only one other than Kacy who wasn’t.

“Weren’t you the one claiming the killer was on this island? How else would you know unless it’s you or your new boyfriend?”

The conversation was going nowhere, and Francesca recognized it for what it was. A stalling tactic. She kept her gun steady even when it startled by the arrival of a new player.

“Francesca isn’t the one behind the murder attempts.” Darren’s voice cut through the storm--cold, angry.

She didn’t even think about it, simply angled the gun away from Kacy and pointed it at Darren.

Not one of her brightest moves.

The petite Kacy wasn’t one to waste an opportunity. She lunged forward, thrusting out and punching Francesca in the tit. It shocked more than it hurt and drew a gasp from Francesca. Her fingers loosened enough that Kacy knocked the gun from her hand.

But Francesca didn’t retaliate. Didn’t wipe the smug smirk off Kacy’s face, mostly because she knew that fighting wouldn’t win her this battle.
