The Heat is On

The Heat is On is the latest book in Katie Rose's The Boys of Summer series. This one follows Connor Jackson and Tracy Coleman. Connor has decided to move back to New Jersey for his final year as a professional baseball player and Tracy unknowingly had a large role in his decision. They were in love in college, but ended up breaking up as Connor's professional career took off. Well, now that Tracy is divorced Connor wants to win her back. What he doesn't know is Tracy has four kids that she is trying to raise with little help from her ex. This book had some seriously real parenting moments and I absolutely loved that. It really showed the struggles of dating as a single parent and the judgement that can be heaped upon that parent. There were some amusing problems that arose and had me laughing out loud, but there were also some heartwarming moments that made my heart melt. This book was a fantastic addition to the Boys of Summer series and I look forward to more from Katie Rose in the future. It gets 5 stars and will be read again.

Perfect for readers of Joanna Blake and Sawyer Bennett, hailed as “charming, sexy, and smart” by Lauren Layne, the Boys of Summer series from award-winning author Katie Rose heats up as a homegrown baseball star returns to snag the one that got away.

When veteran catcher Connor Jackson gets traded to the New Jersey Sonics, he welcomes the opportunity to possibly cap his career with a World Series ring in his home state. But there’s another reason Connor is glad things have come full circle. In pursuit of hardball glory, he left behind his college sweetheart, the one girl he could never forget. Seeing her again stirs up long-lost desires . . . and this time, he’s determined not to strike out.

A divorced mother of four, Tracy Coleman no longer aspires to gossip-mag glam—but she’ll make an exception for a date with Connor. Their chemistry is hotter than ever, and being alone with him is more seductive than she anticipated. Who could blame her for leaving out a little detail like the kids? Now all she has to do is come clean and convince the man of her dreams that they—Connor, Tracy, and her children—have a future together.

Hidden in Ink

Hidden Ink - Review & Excerpt Tour banner I really enjoyed Hidden Ink Hailey has been through hell and back, but she was such a strong person. Once I met her, I could see why Sloane was the only man for her, despite him not thinking he was good enough. They both had rough pasts, but it made them so strong. My only complaint about this book was that it wasn't longer. I loved it and give it a solid 5 stars!

Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born. His favorite. Behind Maya’s work area sat another station. Sloane Gordon’s. All six-foot-four, two hundred something pounds of muscle covered in ink, his light brown skin accented perfectly by the designs. The man was sex. All sex. Sloane had shaved his head years ago. She was convinced he kept it shaved just to turn her on. He kept his beard trimmed, but that and the bald head apparently jump-started a new kink in her. Who knew? He was a decade older than Hailey, and though he didn’t speak of it, she knew he’d been through war, battle, and heartbreak. And she loved him. Only he didn’t see her. He never took a step toward her. He also looked as if he were ready to growl at her presence most of the time. Much like he did now. “Thought you’d forgotten me,” he said, his voice low and gruff. She shook her head then raised her chin. “No, I have yours here.” After she had handed him his drink and pastry, careful not to brush her fingers along his, she glanced down at his client, who was in the middle of getting his back done. While Sloane looked dangerous and battle worn, this guy looked gentler, but not soft in the slightest. His hair was longer on top and flopped down over his forehead and into his eyes, but the sides had been clipped short. He had a short beard and a smile that looked as if it came easily. His green eyes sparkled, and Hailey could only smile back. “Hello there,” he drawled. Oh, my. A southern accent—just a hint of drawl but not too much. If she hadn’t been in the presence of the one man her body and soul had chosen for her, she might have gone weak in the knees at the sound of it. “Hi,” she said back, well aware that Sloane was staring daggers at her. “What’s your name?” the stranger asked. “I’m Brody.” “Hi, Brody. I’m Hailey. I own Taboo next door.” His smile widened, showing a bit of dimple. “I’ve walked by there a few times, but now I know I need to go inside.” She shook her head on a laugh. “I see. You scent my baked goods and now you’ll come inside.” “It wasn’t your baked goods that made me want to step inside.” What was she doing? Flirting with another man in front of Sloane like this? And why did she care? He wasn’t hers. He never would be. She would never have Sloane Gordon in her life beyond a few curt words and grunts of thanks. She was young, healthy, and alive. She should be able to flirt whenever she wanted.

A Bad Boy for Christmas

Kelly Hunter's A Bad Boy for Christmas is a heart felt, quick read. I loved reading about Mia and Cutter. She was a witty bad ass and he was a sexy, protective alpha male. Watching the initial interactions between the two had me laughing out loud, and watching them fall in love was easy and fun. I really enjoyed watching their story unfold. This story had a twist in that Mia and Cutter met because he was Mia's brother's brother. They tried to deny their chemistry and that made it all the hotter when they gave in. One thing I absolutely loved about Mia was her sexual confidence. She was the one who initiated sex for the first time with Cutter and it was gutsy just like her. This book was one I read in one sitting because it captivated me and held me until the very end. I'm thinking that I'll have to go back and read the stories of Cutter's two married brothers sometime soon. I give this book 4.5 stars and will be reading it again sometime.

Dirty Sexy Saint

Erika Wilde and Carly Phillips are wonderful authors alone and together they are phenomenal. Dirty Sexy Saint sucked me in from the beginning and kept me from getting anything accomplished until I finished the book. I loved Clay and Sam together. Sam is a rich girl who leaves her family when her dad is trying to force her into a marriage of convenience so he can keep his company in the family. She ends up at Clay's bar and when she drunkenly admits she has no where to go and no money to pay for a hotel, Clay takes her to his place to sleep it off. Well, one night turns into more and they start falling for each other. This book combines the writing styles of two authors seamlessly and is filled with both sexy scenes and humor. I give this book 5 stars and can't wait for the rest of the Dirty Sexy series.

Seduction in Session

Seduction in Session by Lexi Blake and Shayla Black was a fast paced read. I love Lexi Blake's books, but this is the first one I've read by Shayla Black. Connor was a sexy alpha male and Lara was more of a hippie. They are not a couple that you'd expect, but they worked well. I loved that Connor felt guilt for lying to Lara and while I didn't like how she found out, he worked hard to get back in her good graces. I did enjoy this book, but it wasn't my favorite by Lexi Blake. I give it 4 stars and want to read more from this series.
