Billionaire Untamed

Billionaire Untamed is the 7th book in the Billionaire's Obsession series by J.S. Scott. I loved Tate and Lara together! They were both strong and dynamic, but had hearts. When I found out the reason Lara targeted Tate's brother my heart broke, but things worked out the way I hoped they would. While some things were a little bit predictable, not everything was and the story was written in a way that made me want to continue reading it. I give it 5 stars and can't wait to read more in this series.

AmazonGoodreads

Lara Bailey isn't in Rocky Springs for the hot springs, the resort activities or the fabulous skiing. She has come to Colorado for one reason and one reason only: to find and get close to Marcus Colter, the eldest Colter brother. Unfortunately, trouble finds her in the form of Tate Colter rather than Marcus. The youngest Colter brother is arrogant, cocky, smart, and tenacious in his attempts to find out why she wants to find Marcus even though she's never met him. Lara isn't willing to divulge that information, and Tate is determined to uncover her motives. It makes Tate one hot, wickedly sexy, adorably dimpled, alpha male pain in her backside.

Lara is really confused when Tate helps her out of a difficult and potentially dangerous situation. It leaves Lara wondering if he really is the cocky, arrogant jerk that he pretends to be, or if there isn't much more to Tate Colter than she'd initially thought.

Tate Colter wants Lara Bailey in his bed...badly. When she completely blows him off and ignores him when they meet, he's even more determined to find out her secrets and get her to submit to the molten desire that radiates between the two of them. The fact that she's one tough female, a woman who can give back exactly what he dishes out, makes her even more intriguing to him.

Sparks fly as Tate and Lara become involved in a battle of wits and wills that will ignite flames of passion and desire like neither one of them have ever experienced. But when deception is discovered and a betrayal takes place, can these two adversaries who are so much alike work together without letting the white-hot passion burning between them incinerate them both?

Dare to Love: Hot Dare (A Kindle Worlds Novella)

Avery Flynn's Hot Dare was a quick, witty romance between a hunky football player and the one night stand who is his VIP liaison on a work cruise. When Colt sees Angie is his liaison, he decides he wants a repeat of their night in Vegas. Angie is up for a promotion, so she wants to keep things professional. Plus, she has seen what happens when those in the office get involved with Thunder players and she doesn't want to end up like that. I found myself laughing out loud as I was reading this book. Probably my favorite line was, "I could get pregnant just from being this close to you!" A secondary character said that and I was getting funny looks from those around me because I was laughing out loud at that line. This is just one example of a funny moment that occurs in this book. This is the first book I've read by Avery Flynn, but it most definitely won't be the last. This story is an amazing addition to the Dare to Love kindle world and I highly recommend reading it. It gets 5 stars from me.

He shows some of his best moves off the field.

Hell is a Miami Thunder fan cruise to the Bahamas—at least, that’s how Colt “45” Butler sees it. But with his job as the team’s starting linebacker in question, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to prove he’s a team player. Plus, the prospect of having his one-night Vegas fling, Angie Diaz, as his VIP liaison for the cruise just might make the whole ordeal tolerable. All he needs it to get her back in his bed for some Vegas-rules fun on the high seas.

Cheap wine and expensive ice cream, that’s how anyone fool enough to get involved with a Thunder football player always drowns their sorrows after getting dumped. Angie Diaz isn’t about to become one of the many—no matter how close she got to the look-but-don’t-touch line with the hot linebacker. Mixing business and pleasure with Colt is one dare her heart can’t afford to take…but being with him day and night is making is a dare she can’t resist.

Mob Mistress

Mob Mistress by Renee Rose was the first book I've read by this author and something about it sucked me in. I read it all in one sitting and couldn't put it down. The characters were well written and believable, but not over the top when it came to the mob aspect. I like that Lexi didn't want to be a kept woman, but realized she needed to in order to survive. Bobby really cared for Lexi, but I didn't particularly care for his form of discipline. Spankings are fine, but a couple of times they got too intense and I found myself cringing for Lexi. Overall this was a good book, and I give it 4 stars. It does have some aspects that might make certain readers uncomfortable, but I really enjoyed the book and will be reading more from this author.

When Chicago hair stylist Lexi Tyler finds herself evicted from her apartment, her best friend sets her up with the mobster Bobby Manghini, knowing he likes to play sugar daddy. He offers her a luxury apartment overlooking the city and spending cash every time he sees her, but one thing is clear: he is the bossman.

Lexi soon discovers Bobby backs up his rules with firm, over the knee discipline, but he also takes responsibility for all her problems, giving her more support than she ever dreamed of having from a man.

Mobster Bobby Manghini likes to be the man in control, particularly with women, which is why he prefers a mistress for sex, even though he's no longer married. When he strikes a deal with Lexi to be at his beck and call, he finds in her the full package -- a hot, intelligent woman who is turned on by his dominance and willing to submit to his punishment. But when she finds out he doesn't have a wife, she is hurt by the deception and severs all ties.

Can he prove to her their relationship meant more than a business arrangement? Or will he lose the one woman willing to give him everything he ever desired?

Publisher's Note:  This book contains spanking, anal punishment and erotic sex scenes. If such material offends you, do not buy this book!

Fever (Club Inferno #3)

Fever is the first book I've ready by Jamie K. Schmidt and it won't be the last. I wanted to like this book more than I did tho. Colleen was a strong Dominatrix who became that way under her late husband's guidance. Chase had very little interest or knowledge of the BDSM world and he only entered into it for Colleen. I felt the sex scenes were hot, but a little bit forced. Colleen would recall how she was a sub for her late husband and through the entire book I was waiting for her to give Chase the same trust she gave her late husband. It came through that Chase wasn't a true submissive and I think that took away from the story some. It was hot enough that I don't think this book should be read in public for those who end up getting really into stories. I give this book a 3 star rating, and want to go read the first two books in this series.

Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You will savor a visit to Club Inferno, the erotic playground where glitz and glamour mix with leather and whips.

Deep in the shadows of her exclusive fashion resort, Couture, Colleen Bryant presides over a much more intimate world: Club Inferno. The successful businesswoman and sex instructor has built an empire that caters to the BDSM elite, but now she finds herself longing for something a bit more ordinary: a man to love. She’s not sure how to find someone who will accept what she does for a living—or the kinks that drive her wild—until her old flame, ex-pro football player Chase Fairwood, comes back in her life.

There’s no woman as hot, sexy, or exciting as Colleen—and Chase knows it. He also knows he’s man enough to play her games, and to give as good as he gets. His return to Club Inferno reignites Colleen’s scorching demands, along with a new determination to test his resolve. Soon he’s competing against a rival Dom to brand Colleen as his own. But Chase has a secret weapon: the burning desire to offer his body—and his heart—in sweet surrender.

Walk on the Wild Side

I have been waiting for Walk on the Wild Side by Jami Alden since the first book in this series came out. Molly and Brady have had chemistry from day one and I couldn't wait to read the story where they finally got their happily ever after. Molly starts off the story engaged to another man, but when she goes to surprise him by making him dinner at his place, she meets his new wife. Brady hated Molly's fiancee, so he's glad when she becomes single and shocked when she approaches him to have sex. Well, Brady goes along with it while angling for something deeper. Both Molly and Brady have issues and those issues are what come into play and cause trouble for them throughout the story. This story was well written and flowed nicely. There were a couple of typos, but nothing that couldn't be easily overlooked. I'm happy that Molly and Brady finally got their HEA and recommend this book. I give this story 4.5 stars and will definitely be rereading this story again as well as keeping books by Jami Alden on my auto-buy list.

No Hero

No Hero by Mallory Kane was a fast paced story that had me hooked from the beginning. Detective Deveraux's past was exposed by Reghan and it almost cost him his job and everything he cares about, so when she comes to him about a case he's working on he wants nothing to do with her. Reghan is a reporter who enjoys proving that there are no true heroes out there. She comes to him with a clue as to who is targeting the people Dev cares about and killing them, but she becomes the target of the killer so Dev has to protect her. I enjoyed this story because despite Dev being hurt by Reghan in the past, he took her lead on the case seriously and protected her when she was in danger. Their connection was strong enough to be believable while not overpowering the mystery aspect of the story. I had trouble putting this book down and recommend it to those who like mystery and romance. It gets 4 stars and I will probably read it again.

Police Detective Devereux Gautier knows he's no hero.
He's seen too much and failed too many times. Now the homeless kids he mentors are dying and the only person who can help him find the killer is the woman who dug up his past to destroy him. Dev needs her help to solve the case, but he can’t trust her and he can't trust himself around her, because she's the sexiest, most intelligent woman he's ever met.

Journalist Reghan Connor knows there are no heroes, and she's out to prove it on the air for all of New Orleans. Her latest debunked hero is Detective Dev Gautier, who hates her for exposing his mistakes. Now Reghan has been given the key to the murders of Dev's homeless teens, but how can she convince him she's not setting him up for another fall? As they work together to solve the murders, Reghan learns that being a hero is complicated and loving a hero can be downright deadly.

Her Backup Boyfriend

The word I want to use to describe Her Backup Boyfriend by Ashlee Mallory is adorable. Kate and Dom were a great match and fun to read about. Kate was a lawyer who had her life mapped out, but she also had a huge heart. Dom gave up school to help run his family business when his dad got sick, but it wasn't his passion. His sacrifice earned him a breakup with his last serious girlfriend and he viewed Kate as similar to his ex, so while he agreed to be her fake boyfriend he wasn't about to let himself fall for her. Kate also went through a breakup and was still hurt by that when she met Dom. I enjoyed reading their interactions and Kate meeting Dom's family was great. I recommend this book and give it 4 stars.

The Marriage Match

The Marriage Match by Tracy March was a sweet story. Cyn is helping Trent find love by setting up fantasy dates with three women his grandmother has picked out for him, but she's falling for him too. What complicates matters is Cyn's boss/Trent's grandmother has offered Cyn a huge bonus if she succeeds in getting Trent to fall for one of the three women and propose. This creates a problem for Cyn since she's falling for him herself, and she doesn't know but Trent is falling for her too. Trent finds a sneaky way to get around his grandmother's wishes and is able to give Cyn a fantasy date. The story was well written and flowed nicely. I enjoyed the sparks between Cyn and Trent, but wish the story itself had been a little hotter. I give this story a strong 4 stars and will definitely read more from Tracy March.

Blindsided Release Day Launch

From Emma Hart, the New York Times bestselling author of the Game series, comes a brand new series where the game is realer, the tension is tighter, the sex is hotter, and the stakes are the highest of all…

Two people. Two agendas. Two games.

What happens when the out-there It-Boy of football meets the secret It-Girl of fashion?

As the daughter of Hollywood’s sweetheart, Leah Veronica can’t even buy a coffee without finding her face on a magazine stand, so it’s no wonder she’s launching her first fashion line in secret. With it debuting at New York Fashion Week in just under a month, extra time in the spotlight is the last thing she needs.

The son of the best quarterback the league has ever seen, filling legendary shoes as the L.A. Vipers’ quarterback was inevitable for Corey Jackson. So was meeting Leah Veronica—the first girl to hand him his ass without putting a hair out of place.

Getting the handsome, prickly blonde into his bed becomes his number one goal. But getting the sexy, over-confident footballer the hell away from her becomes Leah’s—at least until she realizes the best way to do that is to give him what he wants.

If only it was that simple.

When Corey discovers who she is, and private photos of Hollywood’s finest find their way online, everything they thought they knew is thrown into disarray.

And when secrets are exposed and hearts are shattered, they have to figure out if they’ve been blindsided by love or reality, and if it’s worth running the extra yard to win the game they never meant to play.

EXCERPT

“My feet are killing me,” I groan, leaning against the bar. “This is why I don’t wear heels!”
“Nah, you’re fine. You just need another drink.” Ryann raps her knuckles against the top of the bar and flicks her hair. The bartender shoots down to us like a baby after candy. “Three tequila shots please.”
“Aw, shit,” Macey mutters. “Not tequila. Anything but the devil drink! That should only be drunk in the safety of my apartment.”
I hold the tiny glass in front of my face. “It’ll stop my feet hurting. I don’t give a shit.”
“I’ll remind you that you said that when you call me tomorrow with a hangover.”
“I promise I’ll drink some water before I go to bed. My mom will kill me if I’m hungover tomorrow.” I bring the glass to my lips and tip it back. “Holy shit.” The tequila lights a fiery trail from my throat to my stomach. “Another.”
Ryann smirks and throws my words back at me. “Your mom will kill you if you have a hangover tomorrow.” Ryann smirks and throws my words back at me.
“Fuck off.” I click my tongue. “It’s my birthday, which, by the way, I’ve spent working and watching my half-assed football team almost throw a game. If I say another tequila, I want another tequila.”
“Okay.” Ryann shrugs, waving the bartender over again. “Three more, and three margaritas.”
He nods and fixes the drinks. A few minutes later, they appear in front of us, and I grab my purse.
“This is my round.”
“Hell no!” Macey cries. “It’s illegal to buy your own drinks on your birthday.”
“But—”
“She’s right,” a smooth voice with a hint of a Texas accent says from behind me. “At least it is in Texas.”
I spin on my seat and look into the devastatingly blue-green eyes of Corey Jackson. The very same man my seventy-five-year-old great-aunt was ogling on the TV earlier. And, okay. I get it. I totally get it. His dark hair curls over his ears, and his bright eyes are sparkling with the same smile that’s twitching at his lips. And he has that jaw—you know, the kind of jaw that makes you want to rub your fingers over it repeatedly? Yeah, that jaw.
He’s hot. The, er, tequila said so.
Smart, that tequila.
“Is that right?” I reply.
“Sure is.” The twitch of his lips morphs into a slow, sexy smile.
“I hate to remind you, but this is California.”
“Oh, I know exactly where we are. Where else am I going to be lucky enough to buy a drink for a girl like you?”
“Are you hitting on me?”
He rests his elbow on the bar in front of me and hands the bartender forty dollars between his fingers. “Does it sound like I am?”
“Is it supposed to? Because I’m sure Corey Jackson, L.A. Vipers golden boy, can find a thousand girls like me just by turning around.” I nod my head over his shoulder. “Oh, look. I just found you a bunch of them.”
Seriously, half the girls in this bar are in fan-girl mode. Or panty-dropping mode. I think they’re synonymous where he’s concerned.
He takes his change from the bartender, his smirk turning cocky. “Finally, a girl who recognizes me for more than what is under my shirt. Is this my lucky night?”

“If this is a lucky night, clearly California isn’t doing much for you.” I throw the tequila shot back.

Montana Darling

Montana Darling was the first story I read by Debra Salonen and I really enjoyed it. Mia Zabrinski is a cancer survivor who moved home to Marietta, Montana so she can build a house on the land she got in her divorce. When she gets there she meets Ryker Bensen because he is staying on the land, believing he will get it in a trust on his 30th birthday. Despite how they met, Mia and Ryker fell in love. My favorite part of the story was how Ryker helped Mia see herself as beautiful. She had a mastectomy & hysterectomy because of the cancer and viewed herself negatively as a result. This story showed depth and lots of emotion. I give this story 4.5 stars and will definitely be reading more by Debra Salonen.

Dare to Touch

Dare to Touch by Carly Phillips is an absolute winner. Olivia Dare was a complex character who had issues that stemmed from two men in her life leaving her. She was a bit of a contradiction in that she encouraged her siblings to have a relationship with the father who abandoned them, but at the same time had trouble forgiving him herself. This contradiction made her more real to me because I've watched others behave the same way. Dylan Rhodes wanted Olivia from the first moment he met her, and he's finally decided to go after what he wants. He was compassionate enough to understand when Olivia needed space without being a pushover. Dylan understood Olivia's abandonment issues because he was also abandoned at an early age by his parents. The chemistry between the two was hot. This book was toned down sexually from the last Dare book, but it was perfect for the characters. I loved Olivia and Dylan's story and can't wait to read more about the Dare siblings and cousins. This book set up stories for both Avery and Scott, so I'll be excited to see who finds love next. This book gets 5 stars and I will DEFINITELY read it again.

The Billionaire's Holiday Obsession

The Billionaire's Holiday Obsession is the second book in the Pryce family series by Nadia Lee. I'm hooked on the Pryce family. Jane Connolly and Iain Pryce make a great couple. Iain has a history as a fighter, but quit suddenly and has been focused on staying in control ever since. Jane is someone who can make him lose that careful control and Iain is afraid of what would happen if he ever did let it go again.  Jane is down on her luck and ends up moving. Iain feels responsible for her moving, so he lets her live with him. Jane doesn't want to take advantage of him, but Iain wants to give her nice things. This story gets 4 stars along with a definite read again, as well as a can't wait for the next story in the series!

Summary:

The Prince Who Loved Me

The Prince Who Loved Me by Karen Hawkins is a loose adaptation of Cinderella. Bronwyn is a strong female lead and Alexsey is a prince who doesn't want to be a prince. They shared a love of reading and independent nature that allowed them to connect. Their relationship started off by a chance meeting, followed by a bit of deception, then transformed into love. I enjoyed the aspects that were similar to Cinderella, but what made it so enjoyable was how the story differed from Cinderella. While Bronwyn had stepsisters, they weren't evil. Her father was also alive, and she wasn't mistreated. This story was good and I definitely recommend it. I want to read about Alexsey's brothers and get his whole family story. This book gets 4 stars from me.

The Prince Who Loved Me (The Oxenburg Princes, #1)

Romance sizzles in this Cinderella story set in Scotland, the first in a sparkling new spinoff series from New York Times bestselling author Karen Hawkins.

Prince Alexsey Romanovin enjoys his carefree life, flirting—and more—with every lovely lady who crosses his path. But when the interfering Duchess Natasha decides it’s time for her grandson to wed, Alexsey finds himself in Scotland, determined to foil her plans. Brainy, bookish, and bespectacled, Bronwyn Murdoch seems the perfect answer—she isn’t at all to the Duchess’s taste.

Living at the beck and call of her ambitious stepmother and social butterfly stepsisters, Bronwyn has little time for a handsome flirt—no matter how intoxicating his kisses are. After all, no spoiled, arrogant prince would be seriously interested in a firm-minded female like herself. So…wouldn’t it be fun to turn his “game” upside down and prove that an ordinary woman can bring a prince to his knees…
